Not to visit tens of museums while staying in Paris – a true crime for every self-respecting tourist! And no shopping can be an excuse! 🙂 Besides, symbolic museums such as, for example, the Louvre, d’Orsay or Pompidou offer dozens (if not hundreds) of very interesting exhibitions that are worth seeing. One of the museums is the Cognacq-Jay Museum (Musee Cognacq-Jay) – an old museum dedicated to the French culture and art of the 18th century.
The Musee Cognacq-Jay had been under the reconstruction for some time, and was re-opened for public again late in November 2014. Striving for engaging more visitors, the museum management invited famous Christian Lacroix who gave a helping hand with pleasure.
The talented couturier (and just imagine – acting consultant of the Mint of France) created a very interesting exposition called “Enlightenment” (Lumières). Of course, the main character of the collection is… a costume! The master’s works are near the age-old exhibits, making a very colorful gamut of shapes.
If you love fashion and history, you should definitely visit the Musee Cognacq-Jay!
The exhibition of Christian Lacroix “Enlightenment” will last till April 15, 2015.
Address of the museum: 8 Rue Elzevir, 75003 Paris
