Fashion and Paris, Paris and Fashion… During many centuries these two words has bean inseparably linked with each other. Coming here, like it or not, you understand it and realize all significance of the fashion industry, how much it had exerted influence upon the city, made it more interesting and attractive to people from every corner of the globe.
Hundreds (or maybe thousands) boutiques of the leading brands lure travelers. Every year, the fashion weeks take place and gather the best designers and couturiers of the planet, and, of course, connoisseurs of their art, as far as “work” is not a proper word which could describe activity of these masters who make our life more bright and stylish. 🙂

Maestro of the fashion podiums has opened his new museum in Paris, in an old Marais neighborhood, impregnated by the history of this multi-ethnic city. “Past, Present, Future”. The name of the permanent exposition as if hints at multiface of the master’s talent, at decades of his fruitful activity.
Cartier – the true icon of style and splendour. And this year is the 160th anniversary of the famous brand! In honour of this significant date the Paris Grand Palais has opened the exhibition of jewelry created by the company during long years of its life.
The exposition contains several hundreds of exhibits displayed in a strict chronological order from the moment of Cartier’s establishing in the middle of the 19th century so far.

Fortunately, the French capital has a huge number of shops of fashionable clothes, shoes, cosmetics, perfume and other accessories.
The first shows in the format of Weeks of high fashion were held in 1973 in the French capital. And since that time they became a leader in determining the most progressive and trendy tendencies.
We have to note that the fashion «Haute Couture» per se differs from “Pret-a-Porter” that does not dictate us, how and what to wear, just being the quintessence of mental images of couture and stylists. It reflects peculiarities of progress of the modern society and shows the human role in it. That is why in the days of haute couture we can meet known cultural figures, all the world’s beaumonde is rushing to Paris.
It is important to underline that Paris got status of the cradle of world high fashion not by accident: at various times Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent had worked here. They were the pioneers of fashion in its “pure form” – fashion like the art.
We would like to start our article from the question addressed to all people who have been in Paris. Please, tell. What street in Paris do you consider the most well-dressed? Everyone, of course, may respond differently, because, as you know, everybody has the own taste. But if you trust the opinion of many tourists and residents of the French capital, so the honorary title of most colorful street of the city belongs to Avenue Montaigne.
For some people Paris is a pilgrimage to the interesting places like museums or monuments of architecture, but for others, first of all, it’s shopping. And this is not surprising, because during long time this city, along with Milan, is the world trendsetter. Every year millions of tourists from different corners of our planet come to the French capital to buy fashion clothes, perfumes and other accessories, as “bought in Paris” is very fashionable and prestigious.
