New bells of Notre-Dame will sound this spring already

Wanna be the first who will hear the “voice” of new bells in the legendary Notre-Dame de Paris? If yes, so it’s time to buy tickets and book an apartment in Paris!

Already on March, 23, on the eve of Palm Sunday you can hear ringing of bells, made thanks to donations of Notre-Dame’s parishioners (about 2 million Euro was collected) and consecrated by archbishop of Paris – Cardinal André Vingt-Trois.

Representatives of Notre-Dame de Paris say that the sound will be the same as it was in far 1769. Bells replacement is timed to the 850 anniversary of the main attraction of Paris. According to official statistics, the Cathedral gets more that 13 million visitors annually.

This is not the first replacement, for the first time bells had disappeared without a trace during the French Revolution, and the cathedral got the new bells only in 1856. Those bells celebrated such key events of French history as the end of the First World War and liberation of Paris from Nazi in 1944.

Information. Notre-Dame is open every day. Admission can be restricted during church services. On Monday-Friday visitors may enjoy the cathedral from 08:00 a.m. To 06:45 p.m., on Saturday-Sunday from 08:00 a.m. to 07:45 p.m.
