Fifteen years ago an unknown singer Pierre Garand performed songs of Charles Aznavour, Joe Dassin and other famous French musicians in Paris bars. For giving them his own color Pierre supplemented well-known melodies with “spices” of rhythm’n’blues.
In 1998 Garou (exactly this stage name became known all over the world) made his first appearance in the role of a hunchback Quasimodo in French musical “Notre-Dame de Paris“. And that was a real triumph of the master!
Since those times Garou has released seven albums. The last of them has a simple, but very saying name “Rhythm’n’Blues” and was presented to the public in the end of September, 2012. However, the main premiere of the new Garou’s album will be a concert set on the 30th of January, 2013. As new songs as well-known hits by Garou will sound from the stage of Parisian L’Olympia.
It is not difficult to guess what music style the album is sustained in. As fifteen years ago Garou will perform his rhythm’n’blues program based on the songs of other famous singers. “Many my fans wanted me to release an album of this kind,” – Garou explains a new project and adds with justifiable pride: “As far as I know, there was no a similar album of French songs in the style of rhythm and blues before”.
Among the songs, included in the program, there are a different interpretation of classic blues “I put a spell on you”, a swing song “Quand tu danses” by Gilbert Beko and many other charming melodies.
Tickets price: 44-75 Euros. And don’t forget a bouquet of yellow flowers for consummate Garou 🙂
